We decided it would be fun to take the kids into Pittsburgh for light up night the Friday before Thanksgiving. As soon as the kids got home, we walked to the T line and traveled downtown.
This was really our first time as a family to go downtown, it was really quite pretty and nicely decorated. The battery on the camera was getting really low, so I was unable to take unlimited photos.
I took this picture from the station we got off at Gateway Center. The kids were excited to ride the T all the way into town. My daughter wanted to stand and hold the hand holds on the train and was able to, however, my son was too short and was a bit upset.
My husband needed a break and he found a solid shoulder to rest his head upon.
The kids and I are resting against the pillar at the train station.
We bought and ate some street food, chicken strips and fries. The fries were good but the chicken strips were like dried and shriveled breaded mummy fingers. The kids seemed to like them though. $18.00 for two servings a bit pricey.
Trying to take pictures of the city lights at night without a tripod was not very successful this is the best results I had. This was after all a family outing and I wasn't about to drag along a tripod.
We finally made it to Point State Park. Decorations and lights were up under the underpass and it was very nice. The kids were getting a little goofy. We arrived way to early and the tree lighting was still over an hour away.
I'll post more tomorrow, seems as if the blogger is getting really slow...
